UK SUPER LEAGUE CLUB CHALLENGE LIVE ON MAORI TELEVISION

The battle between the greatest rugby league teams in the world will screen live on Maori Television at 8.30am on Saturday, 18 February.

The UK Super League champions Leeds Rhinos face NRL Grand Final winners Manly Sea Eagles in the World Club Challenge.

The match, featuring the champions of the northern and southern hemispheres, will be played at Headingley Carnegie Stadium in front of an expected crowd of 20,000 and millions around the globe.

Maori Television is New Zealand's new exclusive broadcaster of the Stobart (UK) Super League and will screen the World Club Challenge live at 8.30am and a repeat at 6.00pm on 18 February.

From now until September, Maori Television will screen delayed coverage of two games per week from each round of the UK Super League competition.

The first game screens on Saturdays from 6.00pm - 7.30pm with commentary in English.

The second match screens in a programme called 'Riiki UK'* on Mondays from 9.30pm - 11pm, with commentary in Maori from former Warrior Wairangi Koopu and radio Tainui sports announcer Pumi Tumai.

That game is repeated on Tuesday evenings from 9.00pm until 10.30pm on the Te Reo, 100 per cent Maori Language.

The Carnegie Challenge Cup Final and the Stobart Super League Final will screen live on Maori Television later in the season.

* Riiki UK is a 100 per cent te reo Maori programme without subtitles. An English version of full Riiki UK games (with no edits) will be available at www.maoritelevision.com every Tuesday.
